Outstanding Success at the Ladies Charity Banquet!

November. Over 160 enjoyed the sumptuous surroundings of Merchant Taylors’ Hall and some incredible edible delights; not to mention the equally delightful special guest speaker, wit & raconteur, Gyles Brandreth. Amongst the evening’s activities was the Company’s first Silent Auction simultaneously using an online platform and we are delighted to announce that a staggering total of £10,000 has been raised for our charity. Congratulations to the worthy winners – shhhh…it is silent after all – and to all of you, the thanks of the Master and Company for your generous contributions.thA huge thank you to all the Company members and their guests who attended the fantastic Ladies’ Charity Banquet on 24

Liveryman shaves head to raise money for friends battle with cancer.

Liveryman Jo Long writes:

My dear friend Louise having fought one battle with cancer already (3 years ago) has now got a bigger fight on her hands, as unfortunately this time she can’t be cured. On the afternoon she told me her devastating news, she said how upset she was about losing her hair again and being bald at Christmas. Of course I answered “well you won’t be bald alone, I will shave my head to join you” maybe a few glasses of wine were in involved….

So this has now snowballed, as on the 18th December 2017, 8  of us will be shaving our heads for Louise as nobody should feel alone at Christmas, plus we can hopefully raise some money in order to help with the cost of some alternative Therapy which God willing will buy Louise some precious time.

The event will be taking place at our friends hair Salon in Walton on Thames, we will have mince pies and fizz for everyone, raffles, a tombola, Nails by Karen and some Arts and Crafts to help sell to raise funds, oh and of course the main event, the Great British Shave off.  Although I will probably wear wigs and hats, if you see me in the New Year, with no hair, please don’t think that I am poorly, just a bit bonkers!
