As you are no doubt aware, when a new Sheriff is elected, this requires the creation of a new chain of office and badge, which represents the background and achievements of the wearer. Consequently, every year there is a Shrieval Chain Committee whose task it is to raise funds for this specially-commissioned chain.
As the Honorary Secretary of Andrew Marsden’s Shrieval Chain Appeal, I would therefore be grateful if you could follow this tradition and as usual please distribute our attached fund-raising letter to your membership.
