The Installation Banquet is the premier event in our Livery Calendar, takes place in the splendid surroundings of the Egyptian Room and celebrates the Installation of the new Master, Wardens and Deputy Master.
We are very fortunate in being permitted use of the Mansion House, home to the Lord Mayor of the City of London. The Installation Banquet affords members, their consorts, family and guests a unique opportunity to experience not only Mansion House and the splendour of the Egyptian Room but also the traditions and protocols specific to our Livery Company and the City of London, whilst enjoying good food, excellent company and very special entertainment.
This year we are honoured with the presence of The Right Honourable the Lord Mayor, Alderman Alan Yarrow, the Lord Mayor’s Consort Gillian Yarrow, Sheriffs Dr Andrew Parmley and Mrs Fiona Adler and their Consorts as well as other distinguished livery and military guests.
The Master and Wardens sincerely hope that you will take full advantage of this very special occasion and make it a memorable event for our Company.
The evening starts with the Installation of the Company Officers, followed by a reception with sparkling wine and an excellent three Course Dinner which includes wine and port to accompany coffee and Petit Fours all complemented by some very special entertainment.
The Official Mansion House Photographer will be on hand to take photographs of members, their family and their guests. These photographs will be available for purchase on line after the event.
NO OTHER PHOTOGRAPHY IS PERMITTED.
Members are also reminded to refer to the Company’s Dress Code and Etiquette Document and to ensure their guests are aware of these requirements.
The document is for the guidance of members and particularly important for new Freemen, Liverymen and Guests who have little or no experience of formal dining in the City and are based on long-held City traditions. It is hoped that this will help to make our evening at Mansion House enjoyable for all who take part and especially for the Guests of the Company.
As a reminder the preferred Dress Code for the Installation Banquet (which is also acceptable for the earlier Ceremony of Installation) is Evening Dress (white tie) with decorations. A dinner jacket (black tie) may be worn with decorations but must be worn with a white shirt and black bow tie (i.e. coloured shirts and coloured bow ties are not acceptable).
The dress code for the Ladies is an evening dress. The shoulders should be covered and the neckline should be modest.
The cost per person is £137.50.
Please complete the Application Form for the Ceremony of Installation and the Installation Banquet and return to the Clerk together with payment, which can be made by cheque or BACS no later than; FRIDAY 3 April 2015.
Formal invitation cards will be issued for all banquet participants and therefore your earliest response would be appreciated with full details of your guests.
