Inspire the future of the Cleaning Industry by becoming a School Governor or Mentor

If you have a minimum of 3 hours per month to spare and wish to enhance your personal and company profile by engaging with your community, then consider becoming a School Governor or Mentor. You do not need to be a parent to become a School Governor, as School Boards recruit external expertise from business.

As an industry, we need to think about the future recruitment and one of the best ways to do this is by becoming a School Governor or Mentor. You will be involving yourself in the education system by engaging with school leadership teams and school children whilst representing the cleaning industry and using your business skills, such as Management, HR, Health & Safety and Finance. These are skills schools are always looking for and show that there are many areas we can help in, not just education. As an industry we have a vast untapped wealth of knowledge and expertise that schools are crying out for.

By being a School Governor or Mentor, you are promoting the cleaning industry as a serious career option and the many positions we have to offer from a Part Time Cleaner to the Managing Director of a FTSE100 company.

If you are interested, then please use the Government’s preferred path by clicking on the following link https://www.inspiringgovernance.org and register your interest. If you do use Inspiring Governance, please select WCEC on the drop-down menu of the Account/Organisation section and tick the Account Opt in box so the WCEC can keep a track of numbers engaging with the program.

You can also contact a school local to you if you prefer, to offer your services but please let the Clerk know so we can monitor WCEC member involvement.

Please also look at the Livery Schools Link website https://liveryschoolslink.org.uk which has all the above links and where there are various other ways of volunteering in schools.
