The Lord Mayor of the City of London has contacted us to introduce the new multi-year Lord Mayors Appeal and keep us up to date on events he will be hosting over the coming year:
Following a detailed research project with over 200 organisations, the 2018 to 2020 Lord Mayor’s Appeal, titled ‘A Better City for All’, aims to have a transformational impact on people’s lives by bringing together businesses, neighbouring communities, employees and charities to find solutions to some of London’s most pressing societal issues. Together with my colleagues Aldermen Peter Estlin and William Russell, we have partnered with three inspirational charities – Place2Be, OnSide Youth Zones and Samaritans – in order to deliver ground breaking programmes which will not only change people’s lives, but save them.
Further to this, we are currently looking for corporate partners who will work with us over the next three years. If this would be of interest to your company, please visit thelordmayorsappeal.org/get-involved/corporate-partnerships/ for more information.
Kicking off the fundraising for the new Appeal will be Santa in the City taking place on Wednesday 6 December, a festive 5k fun run in and around the City which will take in many of the areas iconic landmarks. The focus is on having fun and getting into the festive spirit in complimentary Santa outfits, so please do join in with your colleagues, family or friends – you don’t need to be an exercise junkie to take part! With an entry fee of £11 and a minimum sponsorship of just £50, this is an affordable way to support our fantastic charity partners.
We have an exciting calendar of events planned for the year ahead, from dinners to participation and challenge events.
