Our new team of Company Officers took up their roles in the illustrious setting of the Mansion House on Friday 17 April.
The annual Ceremony of Installation is a highlight of the Worshipful Company’s calendar, and this year’s event was certainly a memorable occasion.
Mr Timothy J. Doyle was installed as Master for the coming year. Joining him in office were Mr Phillip Morrish, our new Senior Warden, and Mr John Broadley, our Junior Warden.
This year we were honoured by the presence of The Right Honourable The Lord Mayor, Alderman Alan Yarrow, the Lord Mayor’s Consort Gillian Yarrow, Sheriffs Dr Andrew Parmley and Mrs Fiona Adler and their Consorts as well as other distinguished livery and military guests.
The ceremony was followed by a reception with champagne as our honourable guests and members adjourned to the splendour of the Egyptian Room with their consorts, family and guests for an excellent dinner.
Our guest list this year also included Lord Digby Jones, the former CBI Director-General, Dr Simon Archer – Master of the Worshipful Company of Armourers and Brasiers, and Lt Col Paul Holder – Master of the Worshipful Company of Carmen.
There was music too amid the lively conversation as we were entertained by The Band of the Honourable Artillery Company, Popchorus and members of Bella Soprano.
It was fitting to observe the ancient traditions of The City of London in this setting, and we look forward to enjoying your company on future occasions.
