 Abseil for The Lord Mayor’s Appeal and the WCEC Charity Trust Raises £7900!

Last week a team of Liverymen and friends risked life and limb to raise money for the Lord Mayor’s Charity by agreeing to abseil the mighty Cheesegrater. Inspired by Past Master Timothy Doyle’s previous descent of the Lloyd’s building our ‘Famous Five’ descaled the vertical drop on the East side at an event that stretched out over the whole day. The Chartered Register Project

You may have already heard of the Company’s Chartered Register Project and its objectives but for those of you who haven’t, or have but would like a little more information, Junior Warden and Past Master Emeritus Barrie Torbett has provided this excellent overview to ‘fill in the gaps’…

“In September 2010, The Worshipful Company of Environmental Cleaners were awarded their Royal Charter and in recognition with the status awarded in association with a Royal Charter became a Body Corporate with the sole authority to establish the Chartered Register of Practitioners in Environmental Cleaning and kindred occupations. Helping to prepare young people for the world of work

Livery Schools Link is a voluntary organisation that aims to promote support for schools in the Greater London area by the Livery Companies of the City of London and their members. Our aim is to assist children and young people from less advantaged backgrounds to receive an enhanced educational experience at school and to have their personal aspirations raised, thereby increasing their employability and career options.
