Sold out
Tickets for our February Court Luncheon are now sold out. We’d like to thank Members for their support; this event sold out faster than any of our other events ever. We know some of you will be disappointed not to be able to attend, but advise early booking for future proceedings and hope to see you soon.
Bookings for all our events can be made through the website by credit card or via the clerk paying by BACS, cheque or cash.
A gin for all seasons
We know there are a number of wine connoisseurs among our members, but are there any budding mixologists? The Farmers & Fletchers is looking for people to design a new gin cocktail. It must be an original and if there’s a story behind your inspiration, even better.
The competition winner will be the person who in the judges’ opinion has created the most original, flavoursome and commercial gin cocktail. For more information see the Farmers & Fletchers’ website.
Tee time in Scotland
The keen golfers among you have a rare opportunity to play at the Loch Lomond course – not generally open to the public – on Tuesday 25 April in support of the Deacon Convener of the Trades House of Glasgow charity appeal. The special competition will be followed by a gala dinner in the clubhouse.
The Trades House of Glasgow was created in 1605. It is the Scottish equivalent of the craft guilds or livery companies and provides a good networking opportunity between our two great cities.
The Charity Appeal raises funds for:
- Kinship Care in Glasgow supporting children who have been abandoned by parents and rely on family support
- The Good Morning Service providing daily telephone contact with older people living on their own as well as additional services, therapies and self-help sessions
- ‘Our Glasgow’ – a special media project for all schools in Glasgow

Two for tee?
Closer to home for most of our members is the 2017 Loriners’ Charity Golf Day. This will be held at Sundridge Park Golf Club on Friday 7 July. Entry forms will be distributed after Easter, but expressions of interest would be welcome in advance.
The event will be played in groups of four with individual and team prizes. It will be a lunchtime tee off, followed by a meal. The cost will be in the region of £320 per team. If you’d like to take part, please contact Barrie Torbett.
