Welcome to the latest Speed Read. It’s our way of keeping you up to date with Livery Company and City of London life, initiatives and events.

Pointing fingerYour company needs you

To thrive, any organisation needs a regular intake of new members, and the Environmental Cleaners is no exception. The Company tries to do its bit by, among other things, highlighting events potential members can be brought to, such as the forthcoming Installation Banquet and Court Luncheon.

There is also the prospective members’ event every year which provides a popular opportunity for Members to bring along candidates who may be interested in joining (along with their partners) to enjoy a less formal livery event.

It is important that members also do what they can and consider who among their colleagues, suppliers and even competitors could be worth introducing as a new member. If you would like more information about introducing a potential new member contact the Clerk or someone from the Membership and Communications Committee.

Feel free to forward Speed Read to anyone who you think might be interested or they can subscribe on our contact us page.

Jack’s back!

If you’ve been keeping an eye on the cleaning press websites over the past few days you may have seen a familiar face. That’s because Jack Broadley will be installed as our Master on Thursday. Good luck to Jack and thanks to Philip for all his work as Master this year.

Echoes Across the Century posterEchoes across time

In Speed Read back in October we reported on the Livery Schools Link project to commemorate World War One, being supported by the Environmental Cleaners and other livery companies. The resulting artwork is now being exhibited at the Guildhall Art Gallery.

The Echoes Across The Century exhibition is open to the public and we hope as many Members and their families and friends will take the opportunity to visit and see the reflections and artworks of all those who participated.
