Obituary – The Reverend John Cowling

John, who sadly died on Christmas day, was the Rector of our Chaplaincy Church, St Olave’s in Hart Street, London from 1991 to 2005.  And, as such was our Honorary Chaplain for the whole of that period, being a great supporter of the Company, attending many of our functions, and, especially allowing us to hold our Installation Court in the Church, which included the blessing of the Company’s badges of office. He retired from St Olave’s in 2005 and settled in Romney Marsh, Kent, later moving to Exetr to be near family. Read more…

 

 

 


Launderers’ Leadership Course

The Worshipful Company of Launderers are holding a fantastic leadership course at Glazier’s Hall on the 13th February 2018. The course will be delivered by a number of recognised leadership experts and a panel of industry leaders to enthuse and inspire both managers and supervisors from the cleaning industry. Running from 9:30-15:00 the course promises to be a great opportunity to network and share ideas with like-minded people within the industry,

Swim laps for cash at this years Inter-Livery Charity Swimathon

This years swimathon will take place at RAC Epsom on Thursday 22nd February at 5:00pm followed by an informal dinner at 8:00pm

The fundraiser will consist of 5+ teams swimming 5000 metres over a period of 2.5 hours. Funds raised will be donated to Charitys chosen by the competing Companies. The Company raising the most money will be awarder the Silver Plate by Sir Brian Hill. Charge for the informal dinner will be around £60 per head.

The Scout Association holds reception at The Guild Hall

Have you got a scout in the family? Many people have fond memories of being in scouts, some can even say it contributed to who they are today. The largest mixed youth organisation in the UK, Scouting has over 465,000 young members ages 6-25.
To help introduce more people to scouting, The Scout Association is holding a reception at The Guild Hall on the 27th February from 6 pm to 8 pm.
