Members of the Environmental Cleaners and military at the 2015 Awards

Attention! Quick march!
It’s nearly that time again when we celebrate the work and achievements of medical staff in the military. Probably our most popular event of the year, if you’re hoping to come along to the Military Awards on 21 September, don’t delay.Get in touch with the Clerk to save your place.

Helping heroes by jumping from a plane
Still on the military theme, Environmental Cleaners member Andrew Riddle will be doing a tandem parachute jump over the Palm in Dubai in September for Help the Heroes. He’d welcome your support to make hurling himself out of a plane worthwhile. See

Walk the walk
Liveryman Sean Canty will be leading a walk around the City of London on Thursday 25 August in preparation for the annual Masters’ Inter-Livery Halls Walk in September. It should be a fun day out and is a rare chance to visit the other livery companies’ halls. There will be a few drink stops along the way and it will raise money for the WCEC Charity Trust. This walk is open to all members. Each participant is asked to raise a minimum of £100. Contact the Clerk to book your place.

Sculpture in the City
Speaking of walking around the City, have you spotted the ‘seven-metre high cast iron head’ or series of ‘delicate and playful lead paper chains’ that have appeared recently? They’re part of the critically acclaimed Sculpture in the City featuring contemporary works from internationally renowned artists and are positioned between iconic architectural City landmarks, such as the Gherkin and the Cheesegrater.Something to watch out for while you’re on your travels!
