Welcome to the Speed Read! It’s our way of keeping you up to date with Livery Company and City of London life, initiatives and events.
  Did someone say buffet?  



  Treat yourself to a hot 2-course buffet lunch and wine (open rolling buffet) at Apothecaries’ Hall for the Lord Mayor’s Show on Saturday 9th November. Tickets: Adults are £42.50 Children are £21.00. Doors open from 10am with teas and coffees served all day and the buffet lunch starts at 12pm and rolls on until 2pm.  Doors close at 5pm.

YOU News Letter

 Stay up to date with what’s going on at YOU (Youth Organisations in Uniform). YOU is a unique partnership of 10 uniformed youth organisations that help to invigorate the lives of children through activity. Their work also aims to inspire the younger generation to get into uniformed professions from the police force to the fire brigade.

What has the Lord Mayors Appeal got in store over the Autumn? 
 
September Sheriffs’ Ball at Guildhall on Friday 20 September promising a fun evening of dancing to the popular Chance Band and a wide array of magnificent silent auction prizes to bid for. City Giving Day fundraising events taking place around the City on Tuesday 24 September, including our Tour de City static bike race, Quiz Night, Treasure Hunt, City Walk and The Long Lunch. International Bankers Golf Day at Hadley Wood on Thursday 26 SeptemberDragonFest at Fairlop Waters on Saturday 28 September.The WCEC are defending champions of the well-known dragon boat races! This years teams are hoping to smoke their opponents in order to raise money for the Lord Mayors Appeal. If you wish to take part contact us for more details.

November Grand Finale at Guildhall on Tuesday 5 November.
