Inter-Livery Chess Challenge
The Worshipful Company of Tax Advisers intends to sponsor a chess event this Summer for liverymen and freemen of the City livery companies. Before finalising the arrangements the Company would like to gauge the likely level of support:
What? It will be a weekday evening event lasting from approximately 17.30 to 22.00. Participants will be organised into teams (which if necessary can consist of members of more than one livery company) and we envisage that each participant will play four or five games, each lasting a maximum of 30 minutes (15 minutes per player). This should give ample time between games to mingle with other participants and enjoy the buffet that will be provided and drinks from a cash bar.We hope to attract players of all abilities and the emphasis will be firmly on making it a fun social event.
When? Thursday 9th July 2020.
Where? The Lansdowne Club, Fitzmaurice Place, Mayfair, London.
Cost? The cost per participant will be around £55, which includes a three course buffet. Drinks are not included but a cash bar will also be available throughout the evening.
What to do next? If you are interested in participating please inform the Clerk who will feed back to the Company of Tax Advisers. No payments are needed at this stage.

Whilst this project can never be fully complete, every company, bar one, has now provided at least some of the Past Masters’ names and all the 2019 Masters are now included. The hope is it will provide information and be of help to historians, genealogists and archivists, as well as to those with a more contemporary interest in the history of their recent Past Pasters/Prime Wardens.
