Inter-livery Christmas Carols and Lunch

The Master and Wardens of the Stationers’ Company invite you and your Liverymen and Freemen to join them at Stationers’ Hall for Christmas lunch, following a Christmas Carol Service at St Martin-within-Ludgate Church on Thursday, 12 December 2019.  This is an excellent opportunity to get together, in the spirit of Christmas, to celebrate with other Livery Companies and share in an excellent Christmas lunch.
TablesWe endeavour to give Companies individual tables but you may have to share with another Company, depending on your final number. Tables in the Hall and Stock Room can sit 10, 12 or 14 people.  TimingsTimings are 11.30 am for the Carol Service at St Martin-within-Ludgate Church with drinks being served at 12.30 pm. Lunch will be served at 1.00 pm approximately. Lunch will consist of three courses with red and white wine; a glass of port will also be served. CostThe charge is £67 inc VAT per head. Please do NOT forward individual cheques from your Liverymen. I will invoice your Company for the total amount due immediately after the event.

Wrap up warm for the Brigantes Winter Gathering

The Christmas Concert will be preceded by a Brigantes reception at 5.00pm in Durham University’s Hatfield College Bar and an early supper (2 courses with wine) at 5.45pm in the College Dining Hall.  Hatfield College is in the very heart of this World Heritage Site are, only a short 5 minutes walk from the Cathedral. The concert starts at 7.30pm and will conclude at 9.30pm. There will be transport by coach from the Marriott Hotel up the steep hill to Hatfield College and returning after the concert to the Marriott Hotel.   The cost per person  is £90.00, including a £2.00 donation to a local charity nominated by the Dean of Durham Cathedral. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis, with each Liverymen able to invite one guest if they wish. Further guest places may be available if capacity not reached by 1 November. Dress is lounge suits.   Durham railway station is close to the City Centre and the Marriott Hotel, with fast services from/to many locations including London Kings Cross (2hr 45m).

If Liverymen would like to stay and make a weekend of it, there are a number of reserved rooms at the 4-star Durham Marriott Hotel situated near the river below the Cathedral. If you wish to take advantage of the guaranteed rate agreed with the Marriott, please book using the button below.

British Red Cross Christmas Market 

The 2019 Guildhall Christmas Market is a highlight of the City of London’s Calendar and this year aims to raise over £160,000 for the British Red Cross. The Market, in partnership with SoftBank Investment Advisers will play host to a number of events from the Grand Opening with HRH Princess Alexandra, the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress on the 25th November to shopping and festive luncheons on the 26th November.
