Welcome to the latest Speed Read. It’s our way of keeping you up to date with Livery Company and City of London life, initiatives and events.


Attend ”Hustings” event and pledge support to for Shrieval Candidate, Gwen Rys.

This years elections will take place on Monday 25th June at the Guildhall. Gwen Rhys will be holding a ‘Hustings’ event at St Stephens Walbrook to allow people to pledge their support and network with fellow supporters.

Stunning light displays to celebrate London’s Bridges

The Illuminated River Foundation is running a series of drop in exhibitions in order to gain feedback on it’s plans to illuminate 15 bridges as a piece of major public artwork. The sites are as follows:

East Side
City of London Information Centre
11am – 3pm Friday 23rd March
Waterloo Action Centre
11am – 3pm Saturday 24th March
The Abbey Centre
3pm – 8pm Tuesday 27th March

West Side
Thamesbank Centre
3pm – 8pm Tuesday 20th March
Royal College of Art
3pm- 8pm Wednesday 28th March

Talk and Walk at The Knowledge of the City event

The knowledge of the city are running a number of Talks and Walks in order to educate the public on the City of London. The last of four talks will take place on the 22nd March 2018, click below to find out more.

Save the date – Rifle shooting at Bisley

We are pleased to announce that the Inter-Livery Rifle Shooting event will continue this year on Friday 1st June 2018. The event involves 5 disciplines including long range target rifle and the black powder cowboy pistols plus three other events. Attendees will receive breakfast, a 3 course lunch and tea followed by a free bar.

Prices
£350 per person
£1,000 per team of 3

For an extra cost rooms are available for the Thursday night at The Canadian Pavilion offering a three course meal followed by port and cheese at the RAF pavilion.
